Baked Strawberry Donuts

  1. Preheat your oven to 400℉. Generously coat a 12-count donut pan with cooking spray, placing the silicone donut pan on a baking sheet for added stability.

  2. In a medium bowl, whisk together the dry ingredients: flour, sugar, baking powder, and salt. In another bowl, mix the wet ingredients: milk, melted butter, and vanilla extract. Combine the wet ingredients with the dry ingredients, mixing until just combined. Gently fold in the strawberry pieces.

  3. Using a spoon or a piping bag, fill the prepared donut pan with the batter. Reduce the oven temperature to 350℉ and bake for 20 minutes, or until the donuts spring back when touched and slightly pull away from the edges of the pan. Let the donuts cool in the pan until they are easy to handle, then invert the pan onto a cooling rack set over a baking sheet to avoid mess.

  4. To make the strawberry glaze, whisk together the milk, maple syrup, melted butter, freeze-dried strawberry powder, and powdered sugar until smooth. Dip the cooled donuts upside down into the glaze and add sprinkles if desired.
